Let's end this the way we should


2020.

It's been 8 years since I last made a post, and there's a good chance it will be 2030 before I surface once again.

I've been doing so well lately that I've become an entirely different person. I think I fell away from blogging because of a big move (like, of houses) maybe? Who can remember its been so long, but whatever the reason, it was probably the first step in a long road to recovery for me.

Some highlights from the last decade:

I got a job when I graduated from university, and then a few years later I switched careers

I got back together with my longtime boyfriend

We bought a house
                     a dog
                     another dog
                     and we got married

I did some solo traveling and learned a lot

I took up sports I could enjoy, and played because it was fun, not because of the calories

I continued to run, but for my mental health, and to challenge myself physically and mentally, not to lose weight. I ran over 30km one day last month just to prove to myself that I could.

And the biggest change happened a year ago when I gave birth to the sweetest, happiest little boy I've ever laid eyes on. 


I was already much healthier and in a much better place when I got pregnant, but seeing what my body could do while pregnant, and through/after giving birth was really life changing in terms of how I now view and treat my body. They say your brain changes chemically when you have a baby and I believe it. I'm much happier, less stressed about what I look like (because let's be real, I'm usually covered in food stains and milk) and I honestly think that losing all of that ED stress has helped me finally reach a normal BMI
